Meditation with 17th Chief Monk from Japan
Experience a rare opportunity to meditate with Chief Monk Syunken Yokoyama, the 17th-generation head of Antouin Temple in Fukushima, Japan. The evening begins with a cultural talk and introduction by the Chief Monk, offering insight into Zen philosophy and temple life in modern Japan. This is followed by a guided group meditation to help center the mind and connect inward.
Throughout the evening, complimentary organic tea, carefully harvested from Japan will be served.

ABOUT
Syunken Yokoyama is the 17th-generation Chief Monk (priest) of Antouin, a Soto Zen temple in Fukushima City, Japan. While fulfilling his traditional responsibilities as a Sotoshu monk, he is also deeply involved in international NPO work promoting world peace.
He is committed to evolving the role of temples in modern society, and regularly opens Antouin’s doors to the community for monthly yoga and meditation sessions.
Antouin Temple was established in 1595.
Located on the temple grounds is Mochizurikannon Taho Tower, a designated cultural property of Fukushima Prefecture. It is considered the oldest Buddhist shrine in the Tohoku region preserved in its original form
